'Sabla' Platform to Ensure Education, Healthcare, and Financial Support for marginalized Women in Bahraich
In a groundbreaking initiative aimed to uplift marginalized women and integrate them to build careers in various trades, a new platform, “Sabla,” has been launched. Designed by young student Tejas Dahiya, “Sabla” offers a streamlined website and Android app that assists women seeking training and financial support, primarily targeting marginalized women in Bahraich, an aspirational district in India.
Women facing social and economic challenges—including those separated from their husbands or widowed—can access a wide range of resources to enhance their skills and uplift their livelihoods through “Sabla”.
Dahiya said "Sabla" platform will gather essential data on users’ family needs, ensuring a comprehensive support system for women and their children. Sabla, not only offers training and financial assistance but also connects users to educational and healthcare services in collaboration with government departments.
When women signs up on Sabla, they will provide basic information, including whether their children are currently enrolled in school. For those children not attending school, Sabla will share details with the Basic Education Department to facilitate their enrollment. Likewise, information regarding children's vaccination status and healthcare needs will be passed to the district's Chief Medical Officer to guarantee that families receive necessary health services.
Moreover the platform focuses on women eager to enter industries such as handicrafts, plumbing, electrical work, and automobile repair—sectors traditionally dominated by men. The platform connects users with financial assistance, vocational training, computer literacy, and life-skills programs. Key support services, such as counselling, healthcare access, and mentorship, are also integrated; addressing challenges like domestic violence and health concerns.
The app’s robust user-management feature includes designated roles for various stakeholders, such as district officials, banks, and healthcare departments, ensuring seamless support for beneficiaries. For instance, data on beneficiaries’ children’s schooling and healthcare needs are shared with relevant departments to provide timely assistance. Financial support, including grants and loans through ICICI Bank, aims to ease economic barriers for these women, helping them succeed in their chosen fields.
To apply for assistance interested women are encouraged to visit http://www.sabla.in or download the Sabla app from the Google Play Store. This initiative is expected to be a significant step toward empowering women and integrating them into mainstream society.
