Four-day state badminton competition concluded in Bahraich
Bahraich: The four-day Late Madanlal Agarwal Memorial State Level Invitation Badminton Competition concluded on a high note at the Indira Gandhi Sports Stadium, with remarkable performances from young athletes. Bahraich's own Vidushi Jaiswal and Arunima Yadav created history in the girls' category by each winning six medals, showcasing exceptional skill and determination.
In the boys' category, Hussein Ansari, Shivam Yadav, and Rajat Tiwari claimed victories, defeating their opponents to raise the flag of victory.
In a thrilling Under-17 Girls Singles final, Vidushi Jaiswal defeated Arunima Yadav 21-18, 21-13 to secure a win. In the Under-17 Boys Singles final, Hussein Ansari from Gorakhpur clinched the gold medal by beating Aishwarya Verma from Barabanki 21-14, 21-14.
IAS officer Ajaydeep Singh, former divisional commissioner and district magistrate, graced the event as the chief guest for the final match, accompanied by special guest Dr. Anandeshwar Pandey, Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association.
At the closing ceremony, Chief Guest Ajaydeep Singh, Special Guest Anandeshwar Pandey, SP City Ramanand Prasad Kushwaha, Program Coordinator Shyamkaran Tekdiwal, Olympic Association President Manish Malhotra, General Secretary Manoj Gupta, and Badminton Association President Gyanendra Pratap Singh awarded cash prizes, medals, and certificates to the winners and runners-up, encouraging the young athletes for their dedication and sportsmanship.
