Dr Ammar Rizvi, former Acting Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, said that Urdu literature is more powerful than nuclear and other forces. He made this statement during a seminar on "'Life and Services of Late Professor Sharib Rudaulvi for Urdu Language" organised by the Uttar Pradesh Urdu Akademi and Digi-Tech Education Trust at the Press Club in Lucknow. Dr. Ammar Rizvi was the chief guest, while Dr. Jan Nisar Alam, Assistant Professor at Lucknow University, was the special guest. The event was conducted by Professor Reshma Parveen.

In his address, Dr. Ammar Rizvi reminisced about Professor Sharib Rudaulvi, calling him like an elder brother. He mentioned, "Sharib Bhai was a year senior to me in university."

Recalling Professor Sharib Rudaulvi, Dr. Rizvi recited a couplet: "Hamare baad andhera rahega mehfil mein, charag jalaoge roshni ke liye. This couplet is for Sharib Bhai, such rare poets and writers do not come often. Professor Sharib was a remarkable professor, an excellent poet, and a very kind and capable person."

He added, "Sharib Bhai always ensured that no one was hurt. What he said, he did. Nowadays, politicians and others say one thing and do another. Sharib Bhai always spoke his mind, and his words were consistent. Today, the number of Urdu speakers is 40 million, more than many other languages, and this is the result of the hard work of people like Sharib Sahab."

Dr. Rizvi further emphasised, "Through Urdu, national integration and brotherhood can be achieved. Urdu literature is more powerful than nuclear and other forces; through it, we can win hearts."

Dr. Jan Nisar Alam expressed his honour at speaking about Professor Sharib Rudaulvi, who was his teacher at Jawaharlal Nehru University. He stated, "Professor Sharib had a unique ability to know every student by name and recognize their talents. He was always concerned about the promotion of the Urdu language and worked to bring it into universities, colleges, and people's homes. That is true success."

The main speaker, Professor Reshma Parveen from Khun-Khun Ji College, spoke of Professor Sharib Rudaulvi's dual role as a significant literary figure and a humanitarian. She said, "Although I do not have a blood relation with him, he raised me like his daughter. What I learned from him, I share with my students today. He worked tirelessly for secular Urdu language and literature, and his students came from both Muslim and Hindu communities. He was a great critic, and his criticisms were highly regarded by Urdu literati."

Mohammad Tauseef Ahmad, President of the Digital Education Trust, thanked the attendees and noted, "This was the first seminar on the life and literary contributions of Professor Sharib Rudaulvi. He dedicated his entire life to Urdu literature. His students are now promoting the Urdu language across the country and the world. There is still much work to be done to elevate this language to an international level."

Sharib Rudaulvi, an eminent Urdu writer, critic, and proponent of Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb, passed away at 88 due to illness on October 18, 2023, at a city hospital. His death has deeply affected his hometown, Rudauli, located around 100 km from Lucknow.

Rudaulvi's notable monograph, "Asrarul Haq Majaz," on the famous Urdu poet, earned him the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award. In addition to this accolade, he received numerous other honors, including the Yash Bharti and Shams Ur Rahman Farooqui awards. Celebrated as the cultural ambassador of Urdu, his work and demeanor left a lasting impact.

Beginning his career as a faculty member in the Urdu department at Dayal Singh College, Delhi University, Rudaulvi later joined Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, where he served until his retirement in 2000.

Among his significant works are "Marasi-i-Anis Mein Dramayi Anaasir," "Gul-e-Sad Rung," "Jigar: Fun aur Shakhsiat," "Afkaar-e-Sauda," "Mutala-i-Wali," "Tanqeedi Mutaaley," "Intekhaabaat-e-Ghazal-e-Sauda," "Urdu Marsia," "Maasir Urdu Tanqeed," and "Tanqeedi Mabaahis."
