The award will be conferred by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Civil Service Day celebrations to be held on 21 April.
Bahraich stands as the only district in Uttar Pradesh to receive this distinguished recognition, highlighting its outstanding achievements in comprehensive development, efficient resolution of public grievances, and successful implementation of innovative initiatives aimed at community welfare. The selection process involved multiple rigorous evaluation stages, including scrutiny by screening and expert committees, citizen feedback, and on-ground inspections by a high-level committee before final approval by the Prime Minister.
Monica Rani, has received high praise from V. Srinivas, Secretary to the Government of India, for her exemplary leadership in implementing developmental initiatives in the district. In a letter dated January 10, Srinivas commended Rani's efforts, stating, "I am proud to acknowledge your contribution to successfully implementing this initiative in Bahraich district, earning the award under the 'Holistic Development of Districts' category for 2023."
The initiatives focused on delivering welfare schemes to underserved communities, ensuring timely grievance redressal, and promoting women's empowerment through active community participation. This recognition highlights Bahraich's significant strides in improving governance and social welfare.
Monica Rani attributed the success to the guidance of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the collaborative efforts of her team.
Expressing gratitude, DM Monica Rani dedicated the award to the people of Bahraich and acknowledged the invaluable support of public representatives, district officials, community members, and media representatives for making the campaign a success.
