India’s First All-Women Mission Band Releases ‘Lipstick’ Anthem

India’s first female mission band, "Meri Zindagi", has been igniting a wave of social awareness and positive change since 2010.

Over the years, the band has successfully conducted more than 600 awareness programs across the country. Through their music, they have powerfully addressed critical social issues such as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, women’s safety, health, female feticide, child marriage, nutrition, water conservation, environmental protection, river cleanliness, Swachh Bharat, Nation First, and Namami Gange. Their impactful work has reached global platforms through national and international media.

Meri Zindagi – Female Mission Band continues to raise the voice of ― Aadhi Aabadi, spreading awareness and inspiring change.

Taking this mission forward, the band presents its latest song, "Lipstick – The Revolution". "The song highlights a deep-rooted paradox in society — where on one hand, adornment and beauty are celebrated as a woman’s pride, while on the other, the same adornment becomes a reason for judgment, criticism, and character assassination. Despite the booming beauty industry, a woman’s choice to adorn herself is still often shadowed by regressive societal mindsets.

"Lipstick – The Revolution" is a humble yet powerful attempt to transform this thinking. It emphasizes that makeup is not merely about external beauty; for many women, it is a source of strength, confidence, self-expression, and sometimes even a way to hide pain and struggle. Many women, including survivors of acid attacks and other hardships, find the courage to rebuild their lives through this renewed sense of self.

The song is written, composed, and sung by the band’s founder Dr Jaya Tiwari. The music is composed by Harjas Preet Singh, and the music video is directed by Rajneesh Tiwari. The video features remarkable performances by the band’s talented members — Niharika, Meghna, Saubhagya, Sukanshi, and Yashasvi.

The campaign received valuable support from Jute for Life, led by its founder Anjali Singh and her team. The contribution of the Sheroes Hangout, Lucknow team is also highly commendable, with their powerful presence reflected in the video.

On the special occasion of the music video launch, a panel discussion was organised featuring distinguished personalities. Prof. Nishi Pandey, known for her independent views, and Dr Meenu Khare, a symbol of dedication and visionary leadership, shared their insights.

The discussion was further enriched by the presence of Ms Ashana Anand, a media professional and author, and Miss Devika Devendra S, Manglamukhi member, Advisor to the UP Transgender Welfare Board, transgender woman and Kathak artist, whose perspectives added depth and inclusivity to the conversation, strengthening the message of the song. The event was skillfully hosted by popular RJ Prateek Bhardwaj, who kept the audience engaged throughout.

During the event, the poster of -- Lipstick -- The Revolution‖ was unveiled by Dr. Meenu Khare, and the official music video was launched by Prof. Nishi Pandey. The team was deeply encouraged by the overwhelming appreciation and support from all the guests and the audience.

The song was officially released on April 17 and is now available on the Meri Zindagi Band’s YouTube channel.

Let us celebrate every woman in our lives — tag them, wear your identity with pride, and apply ― Lipstick with confidence — because it is not just adornment, it is a revolution.
